Carte Blanche is a new fashion project from New York founded by designer Monica Noh, that currently is on Kickstarter campaigning to get fundings to produce it’s first collection. After many years working in the fashion industry, Noh grew frustrated “with the inefficiencies and waste generated by the traditional retail model” so finally she decided to create an alternative to it. Her business model is actually very simple: Firstly, the products are produced in NYC, using the same fabric vendors and factories as other luxury brands; secondly, instead of using forecasts trends, the users vote which styles they want to have manufactured and thirdly they sell directly, without intermediaries. The result: A significantly lower price tag for the end customer.
The styles are creative and very wearable. I specially loved the EASY T-SHIRT DRESS, which is inspired by the 20’s, featuring a flattering draped-front bodice, a dropped waist, and a pleated, asymmetrical skirt. A flattering and original design that for only $139 (€100) can be yours.
When are these designs available? I would like to order
Check out their Kickstarter page, make a donation and a dress will be yours. Or more information at their website http://www.carteblanche.ly
I know they were featured recently in the Huffington Post, so hurry up!
