Daniel Wellington is a fairly new Swedish brand that features simple and minimalistic watches. For this review I chose the smallest model, Classy Sheffield. I’ve been using the Michael Kors Tortoise (a rather baroque clock, but very wearable) for a while now and I wanted a contrast. Yes, the DW Classy Sheffield is a small and ladylike (thanks to the index with Swarovski crystals) watch, but that being said, it is so minimalist that it does not become too feminine. The leather band is really comfortable and it is interchangeable with others from the brand for a more casual style for summer.
Daniel Wellington was born some years after Filip Tysander, its founder, got to know an English gentleman that “had the inspiring ability to be gentlemanly but still relaxed and unpretentious” and then tried to emulate his style in a series of watches with a refined and minimalist style. I see more and more these watches on the street, and I’m sure that they are becoming a very popular choice.
