El interés por la moda ecológica es más y más creciente los últimos años. Incluso cuando términos como “orgánico”, “verde” o “ecológico” son bastante malinterpretados, claramente hay una tendencia que marca una mayor conciencia por parte de los consumidores, así como avances técnicos, a nivel de materiales para producir las prendas, que son menos dañinos para el medio ambiente.

Dentro de este contexto, tenemos la feria de moda y estilo de vida ecológico, Thekey.two que tendrá en Berlín su segunda edición el próximo enero. Dentro de las marcas que presentarán sus novedades, estará Knowledge Cotton Apparel, una marca danesa, que realiza sus prendas con algodón orgánico certificado, y con una conciencia de calidad sostenible.

Personalmente creo que la moda debe subirse al tren sostenible ya. Como consumidores, teniendo en cuenta el origen del producto, los materiales y consumiendo de forma responsable, y como marcas, inviertiendo en nuevas tecnologías para crear productos de buena calidad y a la vez que no destrocen el medio ambiente. Creo que lo que es mas importante es que se limpie la connotación  negativa que tiene muchas veces lo ecológico (productos mal acabados, demasiado artesanales), para pasar a incorporarse para siempre en el mercado de lujo y el retail.

The focus on ecologic fashion is growing more and more the last years. Even when terms like “organic”, “green” or “ecological” are quite misinterpreted today, there is clearly a trend than makes a statement, showing more consciousness from consumers, as well as the technical advances in materials to produce the garments-

Within this context, next January will take place the second edition of the fashion and ecological lifestyle Fair Thekey.two in Berlin. Among the brands that present their innovations, will be Knowledge Cotton Apparel, a Danish brand that makes their garments with certified organic cotton, and with an awareness of sustainable quality.

I personally believe that fashion should jump on the sustainable bandwagon. As consumers, taking into account the origin of products, materials and consuming responsibly, and as brands, investing in new technologies to create products of good quality while not wrecking the environment. I think what is most important is to improve the negative connotation that the ecological term many times has, (poorly finished products, too craftly, “hippie”), to become finally part of the luxury market and retail.
