The Coveted was one of the first fashion blogs a start to visit more than a year ago. I love her posts, not only about fashion, but art and the illustrators she found. And of course her posts about personal style. I know her blog is well known, so I asked about how fashion blogging change her style. And here is what she said:

The Coveted fue uno de los primeros blogs de moda que empecé a visitar hace mas de un año. Me encantan sus post, no solo de moda, si no de ilutradores que encuentra y por supuesto, los de su estilo personal. Sé que su blog es muy conocido, por lo que quise preguntarle sobre como tener un blog de moda cambió su estilo. Y esto es lo que nos comenta:

“Blogging has most definitely changed my style. It’s educated me about fashion. When I first started, it wasn’t because I liked fashion so much, as I loved shopping, and I loved dressing up. I didn’t read fashion magazines, and other than my immediate circle of friends I didn’t really talk about clothes other than where and how much I got something for. Once I started blogging, it forced me to think about my clothes, by writing about what I was buying, and getting in touch with independent designers and boutique owners, I knew it was something meaningful to support. The internet also exposed me to vintage, sustainable clothing, and a whole host of information about fair labor practices. About a year ago, I made a pledge to myself to only purchase independent designed, recycled, or sustainable clothing (I’ve had only a few hiccups… less than five). It means, no H&M, no Zara, no Forever21, which I really love, but I’ve been able to find really great clothes often, at better prices.

Of course, how I wear clothes.. it’s changed a lot. When I first started blogging I worked in an office, now I not only work at home, I live in a different country. I used to read only two or three blogs, now, who knows.. I read a lot. The thing that is most meaningful about keeping an eye on blogs, is that it really keeps you humble, there are so many great bloggers out there, and they keep getting better and better. ”

“Tener un blog definitivamente ha cambiado mi estilo. Me ha educado para hablar de moda. Cuando empecé, no era tanto porque me gustara mucho la moda, si no como que me encantaba ir de compras, y vestirme bien. No leía revistas de moda, y en mi inmediato círculo de amigos en realidad no hablaba de ropa mas que para dónde y cuánto me salió la ropa. Una vez que empecé a bloguear, empecé a ser conciente de mi ropa y a escribir acerca de lo que yo estaba comprando. Al ponerme en contacto con diseñadores independientes y los propietarios de tiendas, sabía que era algo significativo que apoyar. Internet también me ha expuesto al vintage, moda sostenible, y una gran cantidad de información acerca de prácticas laborales justas. Hace aproximadamente un año, hice una promesa a mí misma que sólo compraría de diseñadores independientes, reciclado, sostenible o la ropa (que he tenido sólo unos pocos contratiempos… menos de cinco). Esto significa, no H&M, Zara o Forever21, que realmente me gusta, pero he sido capaz de encontrar una ropa fantástica a menudo, a mejores precios.

Por supuesto, como me visto… ha cambiado mucho. Cuando empecé con el blog trabajaba en una oficina, ahora no sólo trabajo en casa, sino que vivo en un país diferente. Yo solía leer sólo dos o tres blogs, ahora, quien sabe… Leo muchos. Lo que es más significativo acerca de seguir los blogs, es que realmente te mantiene humilde, hay tantos grandes bloggers por ahí, y siguen mejorando y mejorando.”
