Today I want to introduce you to a new local brand specialized in bags designed by Spanish designer Mercedes Gallego. Gallego is a graduate of London’s Central Saint Martins and her extensive curriculum includes designing for John Galliano, Dior, Loewe and Massimo Dutti…She decided to fly solo with this SS12  collection, 100% made in Spain. In her words, the collection:  ”combines high quality materials with loads of personality, and it’s inspired by the dusty Old West and Country Rock music. We want to try our best to fulfill the expectations of our client, who we see as someone that is looking for a special, original and affordable handbag made with with love and detail.” Mercules

Gallego es graduada de la Central Saint Martins de Londres y su extenso currículo incluye haber diseñado para John Galliano, Dior, Loewe y Massimo Dutti…Decidió lanzarse con esta colección P/V2012 con esta colección hecha 100% en España. French brand April77 and Canadian designer Calla Haynes have joined forces to create a high-end, psychedelic and modern denim capsule collection.

“The brand, CALLA, is based on the idea of relaxed luxury, so it was important to me to propose jeans to my client. I asked April 77 to work with me because they are just honestly my favourite denim brand! I wear them
all the time. For this collaboration, we discussed mixing our two worlds
together into a theme called ‘Romantic Rights’ – a vision that is both romantic and very rock and roll. For the print designs, I imagined a girl, in
love, at a summer music festival and how she feels. I tried to communicate the heat, the nature and the music in abstract patterns.” Calla Haynes.

La marca francesa April77 y la diseñadora canadiense Calla Haynes han unido fuerzas para crear una colección cápsula psicodélica, moderna y lujosa en vaquero. La colección tiene estampados digitales que realzan la silueta de la marca April77.

La marca Calla se basa en el lujo relajado, así que era imortante para mí proponer jeans a mis clientes. Hablé con April77 para hacer una colaboración porque honestamente es mi marca favorita de denim! Los llevo todo el tiempo. Para esta colaboración, discutimos mezclar los dos mundos en un tema llamado “Derechos románticos” – una visión que es tanto romántica como rock and roll. Para el diseño de los estampados, imaginé una chica enamorada en un festival de música y cómo ella se sentiría. Traté de comunicar el calor, la naturaleza y la música en patrones abstractos”. Krizia Robustella for Eastpak Artist Studio

Tomorrow, in it’s second edition, Eastpak Artist Studio will present their new collection of limited edition bags at Bread&Butter Berlin. The original designs of 130 artists from 17 countries will be sold at the Eastpak website. All proceeds of the sales of these one-of-a-kind creations will be donated to the Designers Against AIDS (DAA) organization.
Among the participants are Johnny Marr of The Smiths, American artist Jordan Betten and French singer Yelle. From Spain, the Barcelona based designer Krizia Robustella, the original studio peSeta [...]
