After winning the 080 award for Best Designer in 2011, Manuel Bolaño presented his last collection last friday at the Barcelona Fashion Week. A more “mature” collection without losing his spectacular touch.

Playing with contrasts between luxury and grunge, with this collection called “a million promises, a million scars” he takes us to a world where the unmixable comes together …. digital prints with woven fabrics, asymmetrical patchworks that create new garments, and polished shiny surfaces in contrast with rustic details.

New minimalist  and architectural clothes in organic and warm materials. Rigid structures, in opposite to handkerchief sleeves. Contrapuntal textures with slashed “grunge” that generated double visions of fabric stick out these “scars” …. decaying handicraft,  exaggerated by the hair and  makeup  that transferred us to a universe of  theatrical and highly attractive undead.

The masculine designs share the same values garments and fabrics without becoming too feminized or corny…they have a martial and rich bohemian flair. It’s Bolaño at his  best, now without teddy bears, always awaited by a loyal following vibrating with him every 080.

Después de ganar el premio al mejor diseñador en 2011 Manuel Bolaño ha presentado su colección más “madura” pero no por ello menos espectacular.

En un juego de contrastes entre el lujo y la destrucción más grunge, Bolaño en su colección llamada “un millón de promesas, 1 millón de cicatrices” nos traslada a un mundo donde mezcla lo aparentemente inmezclable ….estampados digitales con tejidos artesanales, patchwork asimétrico que genera nuevas prendas, superficies brillantes y pulidas en contraste con aspectos rústicos y enfeltrados.

Nuevas prendas arquitectónicas y minimalistas pero en materiales orgánicos y cálidos. Estructuras rígidas, en contraposición con mangas pañuelo. Texturas enteras en contrapunto con acuchillados “grunge” que nos generan dobles visiones de tejido que asoman por estas “cicatrices”….artesanía en descomposición exagerada por maquillaje y pelo que nos trasladaban a un universo de muertos vivientes, teatral y altamente atractivo.

El hombre Bolaño sostiene también alto el pabellón . Las salidas masculinas no desmerecen a las femeninas y comparten valores, prendas y tejidos sin caer en la feminización ni la cursilería.. aires marciales pero bohemios y ricos. El mejor Bolaño, ya sin osos de peluche, siempre esperado por un público fiel, que vibra con él cada 080.
