Cosmic Wonder is a japanese multidisciplinar project created by artist and designer Yukinori Maeda. The label is based in Osaka, and the central theme of his work is light. The brand is divided in three different projects, and these images are part of his fashion work, Cosmic Wonder Light Source. In his own words:

We study various aspects of light and weave these ideas into the clothing.
Wearing light, one creates an environmental effect, shifting the balance of everyday occurences.
Sharing the light’s warmth, the brightness of life opens up to the universe.

In the spring of 2010 we introduced The Solar Garden COSMIC WONDER Light Source.

It is an ecologically-focused lifestyle project made with the harmonized energy of the earth and its plants.

All products are hand-dyed with herbs such as akane, gardenia, pomegranate, mulberry leaf, rose bengal, catechu, and natural indigo.
Prints are also done by hand with herbal dyes.

Though these process are time-consuming, we believe that the care that goes into making them is reflected in the natural beauty of the finished pieces.
We hope that this draws awareness to the importance of environmental preservation and the need to achieve a more sustainable system of manufacturing.

I find this style (and concept) in many ways perfect. I feel it has to do with comfort, with style, with having a unique personality while being part of something bigger. I love the idea of introducing light. Life is light.

La marca está dividida en tres diferentes proyectos, y estas imágenes son parte de su marca de moda, Cosmic Wonder Light Source. En sus propias palabras:

Nosotros estudiamos distintos aspectos de la luz y llevamos estas ideas a la ropa. Llevando luz, uno crea un efecto de ambiente, modificando el equilibrio de lo que va ocurriendo cada día. Compartiendo la calidéz de la luz, el brillo de la vida se abre al universo.

Es proyecto enfocado a un estilo de vida ecológico, armonizando la energía de la tierra y sus plantas.

Todos los productos son teñidos a mano, con hierbas como akane, gardenia, granada, hoja de morera, rosa de bengala, catechu, y el índigo natural. Los estampados también están hechos a mano con tinturas a base de hierbas.

A pesar que estos procesos consumen mucho teimpo, creemos que el cuidado que hay en hacerlos se refleja en la belleza natural de las prendas acabadas. Esperamos que esto llame la atención a la importancia del cuidado del medio ambiente y la necesidad de conseguir sistemas mas sostenibles de fabricación.

Personalmente encuentro el concepto y el estilo perfecto por muchas razones. Creo que tiene que ver con comfort, con estilo y con tener una personalidad única, mientras eres parte de algo mas grande. Me encanta la idea de introducir la luz. La vida es luz.
