Mary Katrantzou SS13

September 17, 2012

Desfiles, Diseñadores, FASHION

Fashion forward means designer’s constantly have to be two steps ahead of the competion. Not an easy feat and very few designers can pull it off. It’s even more so difficult if you work with digital prints.  In this collection Katrantzou utilizes simpler, but sparklingly sophisticated shapes and I must say that I’m amazed with how she has again lifted her game to another level.

I think this collection is absolutely gorgeous and refreshingly nostalgic. The prints reinvent stamps and banknotes in a very creative way… love it!

As borders changed and currencies became obsolete, stamps and banknotes lingered as tokens of the past, literal souvenirs of the values of other, lost cultures. -Tim Blanks
