Summer is here! We were really lucky this year, and we welcomed it by the sea, and that is why I was absent these days. Enjoying the sun…and why not, new sunglasses! This fab shades are from a new Nordic brand, E&E Glasses. Designed by Erik & Emilia, the brand is located in Swedish Lapland. They are inspired by the exotic Nordic environment with its reindeers, mountains and northern lights. Creating spectacles and sunglasses after the Nordic environment has also made the two designers to name all their glasses after Swedish suburbs and cities, such as Jokkmokk, Kiruna and Åre. The sunglasses are named after Swedish beaches and Swedish summer resorts. Now, that was fun for me to know, because if you never went to Sweden in the summer, you’ll never guess how beautiful and green it is up there. I was surprised the first time I was there and now I am hooked on the Swedish archipelago in August. Of course I never went so far north like to Lapland, but I’m more intrigued and willing to make a trip there now…

The model you see here is called Bettnes. The story behind: Bettnessand, locally called Bettnes, is located south of Umeå in Sweden. This beautiful beach is an obvious choice for locals in Umeå when they want to work on their tan as much as on their beach volleyball smashes. Activity continues until long after the sun goes down (which it barely does at all in June/July!). The choice of Bettnes as the name of these fresh sunglasses is not just for this reason but also because the founders of E&E Glasses, Emilia and Erik, originally come from Umeå. El verano ya está aquí! Este año tuvimos suerte, y le dimos la bienvenida al lado del mar…Disfrutando del sol…y porque no…Nuevas gafas! Estas fantásticas gafas de sol son de una nueva marca nórdica llamada E&E Glasses. Diseñadas por Erik y Emilia, la marca tiene base en Laponia, Suecia (muy al norte!). Están inspiradas en el ambiente exótico del norte, con sus montañas, renos y luces del norte. Esta inspiración los llevó a nombrar sus gafas según suburbios y ciudades suecas, como Jokkmokk, Kiruna y Åre. Las gafas de sol están nombradas según playas suecas y centros de verano. Esto me encantó al saberlo, ya que si no has estado nunca en el verano de Suecia, jamás imaginarías lo precioso y verde que es allí al norte. Me sorprendí muchísimo el primer año, y desde entonces estoy enganchada a los agostos en el archipiélago sueco…

El modelo de aquí arriba se llama Bettnes. La historia detrás del nombre: Bettnessand, o Bettnes, es una localidad en el sur de Umeå, Suecia. Esta playa es la primera opción de los locales en Umeå para un poco de bronceado o volley playa. Normalemente la actividad en la playa continúa bastante después que el sol baje (muy poco, sobretodo en Junio/Julio!).
