This summer I had de opportunity to check out first hand Nick Cave’s Soundsuits, at the Göteborg Konsthallen. I was amazed by the attention to detail and just wanted to see this fantasies in action. This was part of an group exhibition called Disidentification, and that “highlight artists who explore the relationship between the body and larger political and ideological forces in ways that include alter-ego, masquerade, drag, metamorphosis and disguise.”Among Simon Fujiwara‘s installation, I mostly enjoyed Kalup Linzy videos. This illustration is inspired by a moment of the video for Proenza Shouler (with Chloé Sevigny) from 2009.

Este verano tuve la oportunidad de ver los trajes de Nick Cave en vivo en la Göteborg Konsthallen. La atención en los detalles y lo impresionante del conjunto sólo te dejan con ganas de ver estos trajes en acción. Estaban como parte de una exhibición grupal llamada Disidentification, y que mostraba artistas contemporáneos que exploran la relación entre el cuerpo y fuerzas mas grandes tanto políticas como idiológicas, incluyendo la idea de un alter-ego, la máscara, el disfraz, el drag y la metamorfosis. Junto con la instalación de Simon Fujimara, disfruté especialmente el trabajo de Kalup Linzy. Esta ilustración está inspirada en uno de los momentos del video de Proenza Shouler (donde también participa Chloé Sevigny) del 2009.
